Nui Cui day trip - A quiet escape

Nui Cui, located in Dinh Quan District of Dong Nai Province, sits quietly beside the vast Tri An hydroelectric lake. Just around 60km from Saigon — with forests, hills, a lake, and sweeping sunset views — this is an ideal destination for spontaneous weekend day rides, perfect for escaping the city's constant hustle.

We picked a grassy lakeside patch, pitched a tent, built a small fire, and brewed coffee. Across the lake, a few other groups were camping too, but everyone respected each other’s space. It was peaceful.

Getting to Nui Cui means navigating through a wild mix of road conditions — smooth asphalt, red dirt, gravel, clay. And since it’s currently rainy season, the uphill and downhill segments feel more like a full-blown off-road adventure.

Usually, when you're riding a motorcycle, the engine noise and vibration are so dominant that you barely notice the sounds around you. Even when idling, you’ll hear and feel the thrum of the motor.

But this trip was different. The near-silence of the N1-S became a signature experience. Of course, it’s not completelysilent — there’s still the subtle whirring of the motor and the tires rolling over the road — but when you're cruising slowly through dense greenery, you can hear birds chirping, the wind rustling the leaves… little sounds that add so much to the ride.

The N1-S somehow still turns heads despite being quiet. Locals and nearby campers couldn’t help but ask, “What bike is that? Looks amazing and I didn’t even hear it coming!” One guy even shouted, “That’s crazy beautiful!”

🌧️ A REAL-WORLD TEST FOR THE N1-S

Our weekend trip to Nui Cui was more than a scenic ride — it was a great chance for the R&D team to test the N1-S across a range of terrain types, just like we originally designed it for.

🛣️ Asphalt Roads: Smooth & Effortless

Rolling through the city in the early morning, traffic was still light. The bike glided quietly, no engine noise, no whining. The regenerative braking worked smoothly — not too harsh — which made descending slopes and gentle stops in the city feel more confident. Simple stop-and-go handling at traffic lights is thanks to the no-clutch, no-gear experience. And on open roads, cruise control kept speed steady and made longer rides much more comfortable.

🪨 Gravel & Potholes: Smooth Absorption, No Numb Hands

On rocky paths, the long-travel front suspension and mono rear shock kicked in. The bike handled small potholes and rough patches well — no major wobbles, and the handlebar stayed stable. It felt solid and well-balanced.

🛤️ Muddy Red Dirt Roads: No Skidding, No Slipping

This was the part we were most nervous about. Rain from the previous days made the red clay roads feel slick as grease. There were a few moments of slight rear-wheel slip, but the N1-S’s powerful motor and smooth throttle response made it easy to regain control. Plus, the semi-slick tires gripped surprisingly well, with no useless spinning.

⛰️ Steep Climbs & Descents: No Sweat Going Up, No Worries Coming Down

💧 Shallow Water Crossings: No Leaks, No Errors

We crossed some puddles and even a few shallow streams. Thanks to the IP67-rated waterproofing on the battery and motor, everything worked like a charm — no short circuits, no stalling.

🧼 Post-Trip Cleanup

After a full day of mud and water, the bike was definitely dirty — mud was everywhere, from the battery pack to the seat and frame. But thanks to its clean, minimal design with very few tight crevices, it was surprisingly easy to wash down. A huge plus for anyone who loves adventure but not spending hours cleaning their bike afterward.

🤘WRAPPING IT UP

This day trip to Nui Cui served as a proper test run across mixed terrains — urban, off-road, and everything in between. The N1-S proved itself a reliable companion, not just a stylish machine.

At NUEN MOTO, user experience is at the heart of what we do. We’ll continue to test the N1-S in real-world conditions, based on how people actually ride.
